What should I know before I enroll in Omega?

Do you teach some particular faith, creed, doctrine or denominational positional?
No. Our statement of faith shows that we are evangelical and rely upon the inerrancy and infallibility of the Bible. Other than that, we follow the Reformer's position: "In essentials, unity; in nonessentials, liberty; in all things, charity."

What sorts of things qualify for experience credit?
Remember that we are a seminary. Irrelevant education or secular work experience will not help much. Years of ministry-related experience, particularly across a broad spectrum of positions and practices, are most valuable.

How do I apply for life experience credit evaluation?
Complete one of the forms (in your degree area of interest) from the application package. Make sure that you mark the appropriate section, which requests an evaluation. Finally, be sure to include with your form the application, ministry resume', any relevant transcripts, completion certificates, etc. Failure to do so will only hinder the evaluation process.

Do I have to pay to apply?
No, your first payment is not due until you accept, sign and return your contract for your degree. It is to be turned in with the contract.

Will my Omega coursework automatically be returned to me?
Only the workbooks. All other work will be destroyed so the student MUST make copies for their records.

Do I have to use a certain type of Bible in my studies at Omega?
No. We only recommend that you use an accurate translation (King James, New International Version, or New American Standard) rather than a paraphrase or free translation like the Amplified Bible or the Living Bible.

How are the courses completed?
Omega uses a number of resources: textbooks with course methodologies, video and audiocassettes, etc. Each course assignment is written out and accompanies each textbook.

Must I have had previous college/seminary training to enroll in Omega?
No. Prior seminary and/or Bible College experience is certainly helpful but not required.

Can an average person like me complete the required coursework to get a degree?

Absolutely! We have quite a few non-minister students, including some with fairly serious physical handicaps.

Does Omega represent a particular denomination?
No, Omega is nondenominational. Our students represent a broad spectrum of Christian denominations and faiths.

Do you have on-site classes?
Yes, but only for local students. We do not currently have the ability to train resident students year-round.

What payment options are there for my Omega degree program?

We offer the following payment options: cash upfront, which earns you a 10% discount and monthly payments, and which may extend no longer than the number of years of your degree program. We accept cash, checks, money orders, cashier's checks, and all major credit cards.

Are there "real" people working at Omega, or is it really just one desk and some busy paper pusher?
We're all quite real, thank you very much! At present we have a clerical staff, our President, and our Dean here at Omega's offices. We also have a number of faculty advisors/graders working in their area of expertise. Voice mail is never used during office hours.

Will I have to pay for my textbooks separately?
No, textbooks and workbooks are included.

How much time should it typically take to complete each course?
The average 3 credit hour course should take no longer than 8 weeks to complete. The only exceptions are the Bible Survey and Biblical Language courses; these take up to 12 weeks to finish. (Approximate guidelines - some of our students have completed courses in as little as 2 weeks.)

Is Omega accredited?
Yes. Omega maintains its accreditation with the Transworld Accrediting Commission (TAC) out of Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Probably the strictest accredited commission in America.

What are the minimum enrollment requirements?
You must be at least 18 years of age. In addition a high school diploma or its equivalent is strongly recommended.

May I take individual courses w/o being enrolled at Omega?
